Directs, coordinates, and monitors all maintenance actions required to support VX-31 FA-18 Avionics Work Center operations in accordance with CNAFINST 4790.2 series and associated government and Company instructions. Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as Maintenance Instruction Manuals (MlM’s), technical directives, and associated data packages.

 Essential Job Functions:

  • Directs, coordinates, and monitors all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to support VX-31 FA-18 Avionics Work Center operations.
  • Makes work assignments, tracks completion of assigned tasks, provides status updates and feedback to supervisory personnel, performs spot monitoring and corrections as needed for all FA-18 Avionics Work Center functions and associated operations.
  • Reports any maintenance or disciplinary infractions to supervisory personnel.
  • Investigates accidents. incidents or infractions to discover root cause and recommend corrective actions including disciplinary actions to supervisory personnel.
  • Ensures assigned personnel participate in FOD walkdowns, safety drills, training events and other scheduled events as directed by
  • Must be a technically qualified, experienced, and knowledgeable individual who can exercise an appropriate level of responsibility in the FA-18 Avionics area.
  • Provides technical support to electronic project engineers, shall utilize excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet daily flight schedule.
  • Provides technical guidance and expertise to lower-level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.

Minimum Education and Experience Required: 

  • Candidate experience must be clearly defined on resumes by listing specific dates (month & year) and locations of relevant experience.
  • Minimum ten years USN/USMC/USCG Organizational Level Avionics/Electrical experience.
  • Minimum five years Organizational Level Avionics/Electrical experience on F/A-18 aircraft (24 of the 36 months within last 3 years preferred).
  • Must have completed the Navy Class C school for Avionics and/or Electrical Instruments on the FA-18 (60 months F/A-18 Avionics/Electrical Organizational Level experience may be substituted for C-School).
  • Must have been FA-18 Avionics/Electrical Work Center CDl qualified.
  • Must have experience as a Work Center Supervisor. Experience as FA-18 Plane Captain, QAR, CDQAR, Flight Deck Coordinator strongly desired.
  • High School graduate or equivale
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a current US secret level clearance and be able to maintain it.
  • Must be available to work any shift.
  • Travel may be required.

Hourly $45.20 USD
