Our newly added position is a “service to sales” position. Interested individuals will begin employment as a service technician, working both in-house and doing field service work for our customers in Minnesota/North Dakota, all while developing in-depth knowledge of our Lockwood product line. Once a solid foundational knowledge of Lockwood products is achieved, advancing to the role of Lockwood Sales Associate awaits! This is a great growth opportunity for service techs or mechanics who are interested in progressing their profession to the exciting career of sales!

Key Activities/Responsibilities:

Service Tech Role:

  • Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
  • Inspect, diagnose, repair and service mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and components
  • Manage all on site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports for engineering review
  • Operate vehicle(s), machinery and use field automation systems in a safe manner
  • Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations
  • Build positive relationships with customers
  • Work within our research and development department to bring new ideas to life
  • On call for service in MN/ND territory (100-200 hours annually)
  • Develop in depth working knowledge of the Lockwood line of products

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Welding experience
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Experience using large and small power tools
  • Has knowledge to read and interpret technical engineering documents and drawings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Enhanced attention to detail
  • Able to organize and work independently
  • Able to comply with all company rules and regulations
  • Able to analyze, plan and make recommendations
  • Able to lift 50+ pounds unassisted
  • Able to stoop, bend and reach to full height

Job experience:

  • Two years’ experience with equipment repair preferred
  • Experience with the cutting and welding of metal, or willingness to learn
  • Proven field service experience with agricultural equipment

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time and to stand for various periods of time
  • Ability to use tools or controls as required for job completion, as well as the ability to climb or balance
  • Ability to work in various positions in varying limited spaces, including reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling or walking

**This is a safety sensitive position**

Sales Associate Role:

  • Identifies and calls on all customers and potential customers of Lockwood for new, used or traded equipment within the assigned territory.
  • Maintains call quantity and quality to assure the development of a positive relationship with each customer.
  • Develops and maintains the sales skills necessary to sell a premium priced product.
  • Develops and maintains product knowledge of Lockwood products
  • Embraces integrity, quality and responsiveness to customer needs.
  • Ensures product knowledge of Lockwood products are up to date.
  • Communicates the needs and concerns of the territory to management
  • Works within and promotes corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization.
  • Overnight travel is rare.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to develop and maintain product knowledge of Lockwood products
  • Ability to assess customer needs and evaluate customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to quickly identify problems, approach work from a solutions-based focus, and develop creative solutions to complex issues.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft or other comparable systems required.
  • Skilled in written and verbal communications, and interpersonal relationship building.
  • Ability to set and manage priorities.
  • Drive and maintain company vehicle.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work without supervision.
  • Consistent attendance.
