Who are we looking for? Applicants must have a strong work ethic, preserve a positive personality, be capable of communicating effectively, be able to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment, have the ability to work in harmony with a team, possess a well-rounded technical skill set, and have a passion for delivering exceptional care to patients as well as clients. CVT certification not required but preferred. Assisting in surgery/dentistry experience is nice to have, but not required since we are looking for evening help, and is always a plus as we grow and positions open up. We crosstrain everyone to work all positions in the hospital - reception/exam/lab/patient care, etc.
Schedule: Mainly 1:30 PM to close (around 9:30PM give or take), 12:30 to 6:30/7:00PM and Saturdays (at least 2 per month). May need during day as fill-in if candidate is flexible.
Salary: Compensation for this position is $16-19/hr depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
Assist the veterinarian in exam rooms and use veterinary software for documenting medical notes
Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and catheter placement
Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable)
Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients
Communicate with and educate clients
Provide compassionate patient care
