How You Will Make an Impact:

The Genetic Sciences Division within Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Financial Analyst in Pleasanton, CA to provide support to the Pleasanton Operations team. This role will closely interact with key business partners in Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance. This team member will use their finance expertise to guide decision making and suggest operational improvement opportunities. This role would suit an individual who has a passion for decoding complex finance problems and streamlining internal processes while supporting a fast-paced Operations team.

What You Will Do:
•    Provide support and analysis to key site leaders to understand and stay within functional budgets 
•    Complete month-end tasks to ensure financial statements are accurate and abide by GAAP standards
•    Review monthly manufacturing variances to assess site performance, and clearly communicate drivers of performance to Finance and Operations teams
•    Create and run recurring reports to provide data-rich information to operations teams to drive site optimization
•    Track and monitor performance of capital expenditures to ensure profitable business decisions
•    Support the annual operating and long-term strategy planning processes to establish challenging but fair budgets and productivity targets for the Pleasanton Operations team

Education
•    Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance field

Experience
•    3+ years of relevant working experience
•    Prior experience in a large global company and highly matrixed organization
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
•    Organized multitasker: workload prioritization, enable to meet tight deadlines while achieving results, especially in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
•    Demonstrated ability to simplify and streamline finance processes
•    Highly analytical and detail oriented
•    Proficient verbal and written communication skills
•    Demonstrated understanding of Excel (i.e., financial models and analysis), PowerPoint, and Hyperion is preferred

Travel requirements 
Less than 5% domestic/international travel required

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $90,900.00–$121,200.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
