Our client is a mid-sized, multi-disciplined architectural and engineering firm seeking a focused and collaborative Civil Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will provide input and guidance to the Civil Engineering department, ensuring our projects and clients' needs are met. The ideal candidate should have experience managing individual teams, collaborating with subcontractors and other departments, and managing civil engineering to meet business goals.
Qualification Requirements:
Hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer, preferably in the State of New Jersey or New York
Hold experience with public/private commercial, educational, and institutional projects
Possess proficiency in AutoCAD
Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Be self-motivated, engaged, team-oriented, and a strategic thinker capable of working independently with minimal supervision
Possess strong leadership, mentoring, team building and engagement skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
Have intermediate knowledge of accounting principles, including budgeting and forecasting
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Have a strong ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Have a proven track record of successfully managing existing client relationships
Hold a minimum of 6+ years of engineering experience
Have experience with Land Use procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
Developing and reviewing site plan documents such as site layout, grading, stormwater management design, and utility design.
Performing stormwater management calculations as per applicable state/local standards.
Monitoring and providing guidance to clients, contractors, engineers, project managers, and other professionals during project construction.
Ensuring compliance with technical aspects of engineering and observation operations and policies of the department and company.
Conducting technical and feasibility studies, analyzing data such as maps, survey reports, and related plans to develop and design civil engineering projects.
Determining construction costs, local and professional building regulations, environmental impact, and other factors that can affect project implementation.
Managing small teams to ensure project completion within the given deadline.
Conducting job site observations as necessary.
Developing and completing applications, permits, engineering reports, and specifications.
Attending various meetings, including pre-design, plan review, pre-construction, professional organization, staff, etc.
Planning, organizing, and prioritizing multiple assignments without direct supervision.
Assisting with proposals, marketing, project reports, and technical presentations.
Perform additional engineering and technical tasks as assigned
