Job Title:                                 Financial Analyst III

Reports To:                             Sr. Finance Manager, Marietta Operations

Group/Division:                     Laboratory Products Group / Laboratory Equipment Division

Position Location:                  Marietta, OH

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will have the ability to drive business decisions through effective analysis and communication with management while providing financial support for Marietta site operations.  This position supports the Sr. Financial Analyst and the Controller in improving short and long-term profitability of the site and meeting financial commitments as defined by the annual operating plan.  This position will also support the Global Business Service team in Cost Rica, providing accounting oversight activity.  This is an outstanding growth opportunity for a highly motivated professional to add significant value to the Marietta site. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver monthly financial close activities including analysis of variances and reporting of results to leadership/management.
  • Ensure accuracy and reliability of the trial balance.
  • Perform monthly analysis of general ledger account variances and reconcile changes.
  • Assist in preparation for and participate in internal and external audits.
  • Drive continuous improvement at the site for the utilization of Supply Connect and the AP Process in Costa Rica.
  • Actively participate on operational teams to identify areas for improvement.
  • Adherence to Corporate Accounting Policy and procedures.
  • Recommend adjustments to general ledger based on supportable information.
  • Assess the current Financial Information Management Database including uploading and extracting financial information.
  • Assist with all levels of management to accumulate, analyse, and communicate recommendations regarding financial plans and operating forecasts.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports detailing performance of key business metrics and underlying business drivers causing variances to expected results.
  • Actively participate in initiatives to improve execution and operational performance.
  • Assist with development and presentation of monthly site reviews and the annual budget (AOP).
  • Assist with the Monthly review and analysis of inventory and development of forecast and measurement processes to drive inventory optimization.
  • Works in collaboration with Controller to ensure completeness of data, coordination of reporting, and support the annual Physical Inventory process.
  • Assist in the development of internal control activities, including compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, Division Approval Authority Matrix and accounting policies.
  • Actively participates in PPI-Lean and continuous improvement activities
  • Complete job in a safe manner and obeys all safety policies and procedures.
  • Performs all job duties consistent with the Code of Ethics and the 4-I Values.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Excellent digital literacy, especially in MS Excel.
  • Experience with SAP, BAAN or other ERP application a plus.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with individuals and teams.
  • Willingness to learn new concepts and dig into large data sets.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with willingness to multi-task.
