Position Description: The Surgical Recovery Coordinator (SRC) is responsible for the surgical recovery of donated Organs and Tissues used for transplantation and research, screening of potential tissue donors at the Coroner offices and coordinating the Operating Room (OR) recovery process for Organ and Tissue donors. Performs screening at the Coroner offices to identify potential donors; Performs aseptic surgical recovery of tissues such as: Ocular, Musculoskeletal, Skin, Vascular, Cardiac, Bone Marrow, and other tissues as requested; Performs medical chart review and qualify a donor for recovery; Performs Organ Recovery Coordination; Assists in the aseptic surgical recovery of organs; Performs aseptic surgical recovery of organs for research; Performs Kidney Pumping/pulsatile perfusion; Performs Organ Recovery OR support; Performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with OneLegacy policies and procedures, the standards and regulations as outlined by the FDA, UNOS, CMS, and other applicable federal, state and local laws.
Qualifications: Highly qualified candidates must have one of the following: Possess a Bachelor’s degree (BS) from an accredited four-year college or university, completion of an EMT program, completion of a ER Technologist or Surgical Technologist program, current or previous licensure as a paramedic, previous experience in the Tissue or Organ recovery industry or experience in the allied health field. CEBT and/or CTBS certifications are preferred. A current California driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable automotive transportation is required.
