Job Description
Schedule will be 4 - 10hr days
No Weekends or holidays.
ON Call rotation requirement of 1-3 days/week (self scheduled) in addition to every 3rd weekend.
The Cath Lab Coordinator reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities:
Assure efficient and effective utilization of the Cath labs by improving communication among all departments involved, i.e., Central Scheduling, Cath Lab Recovery, PST. Delegates responsibilities to other staff member to ensure seamless operation of the lab, which may include ordering supplies, or participating in orientation of other staff members.
Act as liaison between the physician and the department.
Provide supervision in the lave five days per week.
Assess staff competencies to aid in procedural risk.
Interacts with other sections of the Cardiology Department and other departments to facilitate customer satisfaction.
Interacts with the Cardiologist related to clinical concerns and assists in corrective actions to improve quality.
Recommends appropriate staff disciplinary action to the manager of the department as needed.
Coordinates daily work activities of section associates, assignments/scheduling.
Provides guidance to clinical policy and procedure.
Monitors associate attendance.
Provides input on the selection of new hires.
Assist and/or delegate orientation of new associates.
Act as resource for issues/problems arising from daily operations of the department.
Utilize expertise of the department technicians in maintaining department inventories.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
Graduate from accredited Nursing Program or American Registered Radiologic Technology program.
Illinois RN License or ARRT
ACLS
Experience in invasive and interventional cardiology a minimum of 5 years
Proficient in all aspect of technology available in the Cath Lab
Preferred:
BSN or CVT
Previous experience in coordinating the daily schedule in a busy Cath Lab
