Are you a graduate student in school psychology looking to gain hands-on experience in a school setting? Our school district in Illinois is seeking a School Psychologist Intern to join our team. This internship offers the opportunity to work under the supervision of experienced school psychologists, providing support to students, conducting assessments, and participating in multidisciplinary team meetings. As a School Psychologist Intern, you will have the chance to develop your skills and knowledge while making a positive impact on the lives of students.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist School Psychologists in conducting psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive abilities, academic skills, social-emotional functioning, and behavior.
  • Administer standardized tests and other assessment tools under the supervision of licensed professionals.
  • Interpret assessment results and contribute to the development of intervention plans and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students to address social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to develop and implement strategies for supporting students' academic and social-emotional development.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review assessment findings, develop intervention plans, and monitor student progress.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessment results, progress notes, and service delivery.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in a graduate program in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Eligible for internship placement as required by your academic program.
  • Knowledge of psychological assessment tools and techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to cultural competence, equity, and social justice in working with diverse populations.
