Position Summary

We are seeking candidates who are interested in supporting units in the Indo-Pacific Theater from the JPMRC in Fort Shafter, HI with Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS) and Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) integration. JPMRC serves as the US Army’s Combat Training Center (CTC) for the Indo-Pacific Theater. JPMRC mission support services provide expertise in exercise planning and execution of rigorous and realistic training to generate combat-credible US Army forces using Pacific Decisive Action Training Environment (DATE) scenarios specific to jungle, archipelagic, arctic, and mountainous terrain to train Pacific Theater US Army Brigade Combat Teams (BCT), Echelons Above Brigade (EAB) units, Division Headquarters, and Joint and Multinational Forces in the environment and conditions in which they will fight.

196th Infantry Brigade is responsible for establishing the JPMRC. JPMRC support provides full-time JPMRC planning and execution capabilities across the Six Pillars and at the JMSC-IP to support two live instrumented CTC rotations annually in Alaska and Hawaii and one live instrumented maneuver FTX annually West of the International Dateline (WIDL) until such a time as a permanent TDA sourcing solution is approved in accordance with (IAW) HQDA and to provide surge capabilities during rotations and exercises.

The selected candidate will primarily work at the 196th Infantry Brigade’s JPMRC, headquartered on Fort Shafter, HI with travel to Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson (JBER), AK; Fort Wainwright, AK; Schofield Barracks, HI; and potentially an exercise WIDL.

This is an exciting opportunity for a successful applicant to have access to and regularly work with Government sensitive data and may be asked to represent the Government at meetings and conferences. The Training Coordinator will brief senior leadership on the use of Mission Command and updates in Mission Command technology and provide support to the Operations Group (OPSGRP) performing EXCON and HICON functions.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide support for the integration of the LVC training domains to simulate the scenario, implement the Rotational Training Unit (RTU) decisions, and provide responsive feedback with subsequent impacts to enable the unit to develop and refine the use of its capabilities and procedures in the execution of mission command.
  • Support JPMRC rotations supporting LVC interface and appropriate Simulations and Stimulations (SIMS/STIMS). These activities enhance the training by simulating the larger operations in which this event is occurring inside the Area of Operations (AO), adding capabilities to the box that would otherwise be unavailable to the RTU due to operational costs and competing requirements for limited assets, and stimulation for unit assets currently positioned in the box to effect better training for the rotational soldiers.
  • Provide recommendations to adjust the scenario IAW established timelines to support the exercise.
  • Advise and assist on all LVC activities IAW rotational exercise scenarios.
  • Coordinate and integrate virtual and constructive capabilities with the overall rotational scenario design throughout the exercise lifecycle.
  • Provide staff representation at required meetings and briefings designated by the Chief OPSGRP.
  • Be responsive to JPMRC mission requirements and participate in the development of creative and innovative techniques for the successful accomplishment of the JPMRC exercise control and data collection efforts.
    • Recommend the inclusion of new systems and technologies, including changes in OC/T methodologies and requirements, changes in organization, tactics, and/or doctrine.
    • Identify emerging capabilities to support the JPMRC mission.
    • Be responsive to emerging JPMRC requirements.
    • Participate in the development of innovative techniques for the successful accomplishment of the JPMRC exercise control and data collection efforts.
    • Participate in systems tests, conferences, and meetings as required by the Government.
  • Advise the Government in integrating Contractors engaged in altering or enhancing the JPMRC-IS capabilities.
  • Ensure LVC activities are coordinated with OPSGRP.
  • Provide recommendations concerning the inclusion of new MCIS and technologies, including but not limited to, changes in OC/T methodologies and requirements, fielding of additional constructive and/or virtual system components or capabilities, and changes in organization tactics and/or doctrine.
  • Support LVC and Gaming preparation for upcoming rotational exercises.
  • Participate in systems tests, conferences, and meetings as required by the Government.
  • The Contractor shall support either a Standard Rotational Exercise, MRE, or potential future scenarios based upon the needs of the RTU. The Contractor shall advise on virtual and constructive events into the overall scenario and integrate live participants via the JPMRC-IS.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or six (6) years experience in planning and exercise support to US Army brigades or above integrating LVC and MCIS.
  • Associate’s degree plus 4 years experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience integrating LVC and MCIS, operationally and technically.
  • Experience implementing the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) process for brigade or EAB exercises.
  • Familiarity with US Army training aids, devices, simulators, and simulations (TADSS) and MCIS.
  • Previous US Army Functional Area (FA) 57 or Mission Training Complex (MTC) experience is desired.
  • Previous experience as an OC/T at NTC, JRTC, JMRC, or MCTP is desired.
  • Familiarity with the Indo-Pacific AO is desired.

  • Active Secret clearance
