Job Description

AECOM Buildings + Places is seeking a Digital/BIM Architectural Designer as a strategic addition to our Americas Sports Buildings + Places practice.

The Digital/BIM Designer elevates our digital technology capabilities with a strong emphasis on leading the evolution of our Digital Technology BIM & data-driven approach, providing deep knowledge of the building process and project data to ensure critical information is accessible in real-time for informed decision-making across AECOM Sports’ world-renowned projects.

The primary duties of this role are to lead our practice of Information & BIM Management, Data Analytics, System Design & Application Ecosystem leveraging data, Digital Assets, and technology-led Innovation and Change Management. This role will lead through his/her proven expertise in synthesizing data utilizing integrated systems, etc., and will be a key partner in our pursuit of perpetual innovation.

Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead digital upskilling of the project team, ensuring data is clearly visualized, understood, and leveraged throughout the project’s lifecycle.
  • Extract critical data from various digital technology applications and systems; collect, synthesize and translate data to useful information by creating visual dashboards and project information hubs.
  • Work collaboratively within our core Digital Technology team across the Sports practice, in coordination with the extended region to strategize, implement, and leverage digital technologies as well other related leading-edge methodologies to secure the advancement and continuous innovation of our digital project delivery.
  •  Actively participate in premier sports projects, leading and maintaining BIM support, from start-up through delivery.
  • Ensure projects have adequately defined BIM and data system requirements using advanced Information Management methodologies.
  •  Assist setup of data-driven 3D model project templates and families in REVIT as needed for coordination during project start-up.
  • Support other digital technologies as required by the project
  • Continually support the project to ensure that integrated teams are delivering BIM requirements as outlined while maintaining high corporate standards.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to junior BIM Technicians and Engineers to guide their development of critical industry knowledge and understanding of corporate standards. This mentoring will aid in their growth and prepare them to be self-sustaining on future projects.
  • Assist with preparing A/E contract language to obtain effective BIM models.
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings; partner with the Architecture and Engineering teams to ensure proper information is delivered to project teams and subcontractors.
  • Participate in and manage the development of presentations, including the creation of data visualization charts, etc., for proposals and marketing materials.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/ BS degree + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Professional experience of management of BIM for design and construction document production.
  • Strong working knowledge of REVIT within an Architectural context

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience in the A/E/C industry with 6 years directly supporting a BIM user environment. At least 4 years experience in BIM (Revit) Management
  • Expert knowledge with proven practical application of Revit Architecture and integration with the Autodesk Suite of products.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCad, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Revit Certified Professional
  • Knowledge Community Industry Events
  • AlA Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP) Knowledge Community or other
  • Autodesk University

Additional Information

  • Offered rate of compensation (New York locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $135,000.
