The person filling this position would have a significant impact on the product, service, and our clients as they would be responsible for implementing, integrating, testing, and deploying system hardware utilized in a large biometric system.
The individual selected for the role will acquire valuable expertise in executing system administration tasks to assist biometric applications.
Typical Day:
The successful candidate would work on-site at the prime contractor facility in Fairmont, WV alongside a team of proficient IT professionals. The candidate can expect to adhere to a conventional workweek schedule.
Tasks:
The Systems Administrator contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
Responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the organization's operating systems and all related systems or software.
Analyzes and resolves problems associated with server hardware/software and applications software and ensures scalability and appropriate integration with other systems.
Detects, diagnoses, and reports system-related problems.
Responsible for backup or recovery procedures.
Reports to a supervisor or manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Experience: 5 years
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree
5+ years’ experience managing RedHat Linux systems
3+ years’ experience managing RedHat Satellite
Ability to train system administrators in OCONUS locations (via remote connection)
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with administrative infrastructure, such as firewalls, databases, malware protection software and other processes
Ability to Identify and resolve network connectivity issues
Perform software and hardware upgrades, and general maintenance of servers and peripherals
General systems and database operations, administration, maintenance, documentation, and reporting
Managing system configuration and deployments using Ansible
Experience with virtualization technologies, such as OpenShift Virtualization
Previous work in Agile / DevOps environments
Familiarity with Windows administration for desktop clients
Experience with biometrics matching systems
