If so, Dungarvin has a unique opportunity available in our Supported Living program and we are looking for an exceptional candidate who has a passion for person-centered advocacy and choice.
The Full-Time Float Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver provides in-home care within the Eugene, Oregon area and will provide full-time staffing support for open and/or temporary positions to support individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD).
This position requires a dependable candidate who is flexible in their schedule, works well independently, and has exceptional communication and decision-making skills. Float DSP's are adaptable and will have the necessary skill set to be able to work at multiple homes.
What You’ll Do
Provide client care in a float capacity for schedules, emergencies, or fill-in assignments at designated residential homes
Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
Provide companionship and personalized care with respect and dignity while encouraging independence and self-care.
Assist patients with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
Implementing positive behavior supports
Prepare meals and snacks.
Light household duties
Provide mobility and transfer assistance, which may include using mechanical lift devices.
Community activities and outings
Assist with transportation needs
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must be available to work a flexible schedule (including weekends)
Previous DSP/Caregiving experience required
Must have valid driver's license & reliable transportation
Must be able and willing to learn different supports, from medical to behavioral
Have a passion to help others
Works well independently
Dependable and adaptable
Excellent communication and decision-making skills
Able to follow written and verbal instructions
Must be able to provide references
18 years of age or older (required)
Able to attend two weeks of PAID in-house orientation and training
