Position summary: The Facilities/CM department is searching for a Construction Administrator (CM-CA) to perform duties in Erie, PA  The candidate will be responsible for assisting with: (1) providing construction project oversite using knowledge of general engineering and construction principles and practices to interpret, organize, coordinate, communicate and execute assignments with limited supervision, (2) ensuring work is performed and completed in accordance to the contract documents, and (3) providing support to other team members, and (4) other tasks as may be assigned by the Project Manager/Supervisor.

Essential functions and responsibilities

• Possess a working knowledge of construction practices and call upon this knowledge to assist in implementing the various plans set forth on the project including Quality Assurance; Safety, Time, Cost, Change and Information Management. They CM-CA shall be familiar with the site operations of a General and Sub-contractor and the process of managing a building construction operation.
• Have working experience in monitoring the construction for Quality Assurance. The CM-CA shall have experience in preparing, analyzing and identifying incongruities and deficiencies in the contractors work in relationship with the construction documents. In addition, they shall understand the baseline schedule and assist in determining the value of the acceptable work in place.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited engineering program and/or evidence work experience or knowledge to compensate for absence of higher education. A minimum of three (3) years of construction work experience may be substituted and will be reviewed for acceptability. A detailed dossier shall be presented
• 3+ years’ experience in construction.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred Experience

• Knowledgeable with CPM scheduling. Experienced with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project is preferred
• Experience working with governmental agencies at the city, county and state levels
• Knowledgeable in construction testing and inspection requirements
• Experience working in hospitals or medical facilities

Working Conditions

Work is performed in both an office and field (construction) environment.  Office to field time is approximately 25% to 75% respectively. Field work requires climbing, walking and standing at a construction site and may be outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required.
