Our client, a leading healthcare provider in Bergen County, has an immediate need for experienced Ultrasound Technician, to join our growing team in Englewood.

Our candidate choice will bring a minimum of 2 years general ultrasound tech experience in hospital setting preferred, ARDMS required.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.
  • Reviews patient’s medical history and physician’s instructions.  Prepares equipment for procedure.  Selects appropriate equipment settings.  Explains procedure to patient and records any medical history that might be relevant to the condition being viewed.  Directs the patient to move into positions that will provide the best view.
  • Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and abnormal areas.  Selects images to show the physician for diagnostic purposes.  Takes measurements, calculates values, and analyzes the results in preliminary reports for the physicians.
  • Completes preliminary examination reports for review with attending physician.
  • Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographers care.
  • Maintains ultrasound equipment and work area, and maintains adequate supplies.
  • Complies with safety, infection control, and quality improvement policies/procedures.
  • Assess complex health and wellbeing needs, working with the team to develop, monitor and review care plans to meet those needs
  • Acts sensitively, confidentially and with empathy in demonstrating understanding of wide ranging physical and emotional needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Minimum of one year training in diagnostic ultrasound in a program approved by ARDMS.
  • Minimum one year of experience in fetal ultrasound.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology.
  • Works well with other members of the team in a cooperative and professional manner.
  • RDMS required
  • NT Certification preferred
