POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform clinical and operational duties associated with basic to advanced medical and critical care services to the sick and injured in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations and EMS Unlimited policies in the setting of ambulance and transport operations. The Transport RN is a valuable member of the Transport team who will provide advanced level care and transport of patients primarily between hospitals (Interfacility Transfers). All EMS Unlimited Transport Team members are expected to serve in a dignified, compassionate and professional manner while focusing on professional growth and customer service.
Additional opportunities within EMS Unlimited are also available, such as Special Events, Disaster and Wildfire Response and other Special Projects.
SCHEDULE:
PRN (Casual): Minimum 72 hours per quarter, Available 24 hours per month (12, 24, 48, 72 hour shifts)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The employee must possess and apply knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of a Registered Nurse, including but not limited to:
Responding to emergency and non-emergency requests calmly, efficiently and promptly;
Assessing the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish an effective treatment plan. ;
Maintaining order at scenes, including crowd disbursement and restraint of family and friends; and Completing patient care forms, insurance forms, evaluation forms, and all other forms in a competent and timely fashion.
Conduct medical equipment inventory.
Cleaning, organizing and restocking supplies in a ready condition after each use;
Respond to requests for emergency and non-emergency medical care
Maintaining accurate records of request for emergent and non-emergent first aid and medical care. Properly document each customer/patient interaction on the approved Patient Care Report in accordance with policies and procedures;
Handling radio communications professionally and efficiently with careful regard to the divulgence of information respecting confidentiality requests at all times;
Work Cooperatively with assisting agencies.
The Transport RN is expected be proficient and capable in applicable medical acts, such as but not limited to (Training provided by EMS Unlimited)
Intubation and airway management
Use of a mechanical ventilator and respiratory care
Initiating, monitoring and management medication infusions
Management of an emergency or in hospital scene
Initiation, monitoring and use of Intravenous access points
Monitoring and appropriately managing/treating cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias
Safely using provided extrication and immobilization equipment
Monitoring Central catheters
Monitoring Chest Tubes
Perform advanced assessments of history and physical exams to formulate and carry out appropriate care plans that are in-line with company treatment protocols.
The employee is expected to protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with EMS Unlimited Privacy Policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal (and state) law, and in accordance with general principles of professionalism as a healthcare provider. Failure to comply with policies and procedures on patient privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination or employment.
Qualifications
Educational and Experience Requirements
The employee must have a minimum of either a high school diploma or a GED
must have and maintain a current state healthcare license at the level for which hired.
1 year of ER or 1 year of ICU experience is required.
Prior experience or certification in a pre hospital setting preferred
Requirements
Must be prepared to support a positive company culture and work in-line with company values.
Must obtain state EMS credential, at company expense, prior to hire.
Must be able to pass pre-employment physical/DOT and drug screening
Must be able to meet schedule and availability requirements of classification.
Must be 21 years of age
Vehicle operators must have a minimum of Two (2) years experience as a licensed driver
The employee must possess and maintain a valid/clean driver’s license
ACLS, PALS and CPR required prior to hire (can be obtained from EMS Unlimited).
FEMA ICS training 200 & 700 is required prior to hire date (can be obtained online at no cost)
TNCC & ENPC recommended, must be obtained within 1 year of hire
CEN and/or CFRN recommended, must be obtained within 12 months of hire
