Position Summary:
In this position you will be required to travel throughout our Fleet Maintenance Facilities within A. Duie Pyle’s network, located in the Northeast and perform hands on, remote and guided diagnostic training to help support our shops efforts in tackling the daily equipment repair challenges. As a Field Trainer/Diagnostic Support Specialist, you will be tasked with providing training on all facets of equipment, administration duties, new hires employee training and supporting the technician team with complex diagnostic repairs. This professional will instruct and lead Pyle technicians by promoting the culture and mentoring staff appropriately all while supporting the department’s ideals and processes. This position will require 70 percent overnight travel to effectively support the shops throughout our foot print.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Travel to outlying Fleet Maintenance Facilities providing maintenance support and required training
- Responsible for conducting and surveying training sessions to ensure material retention needs are met
- Provides detailed insight into training material used and how it is implemented
- Creates metrics to measure how the training is retained, utilized and the impact of it
- Assist with the Fleet Tech Support desk and provides assistance with laptop/software issues
- Provides recommendations for training needs
- Conducts equipment, facility and repairs audits
- Provides New Hire training on policies, procedures and fleet maintenance software
- Assists with shop vacancies, perform special assignments and provides operations supports
- Reviews daily OOS for complex issues and provides technical assistance
- Reviews monthly progress on all apprentices and performs final skills test prior to graduation
- Communicates issues and potential problems to Leadership
- Assists with the recommendation of new tooling purchases
To be qualified for this position, you must possess the following:
- Strong knowledge of class 8 tractor and trailer maintenance and DOT/OSHA guidelines
- Must have a compliment of tools required to perform most Class 8 repairs
- Familiar with the systems relative to today’s heavy-duty equipment
- Must have 5 plus years of maintenance experience in a fleet maintenance environment
- Strong computer skills and proficient in: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must be able to multi-task
- 70 percent travel time or more is required
- Good written and strong oral communication skills
- CDL/State Inspection a plus
- High school Diploma and Industry Management Experience
