Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (HVACR) Instructor
Minimum
HVACR experience at a minimum journey- or technician-level (at least 4 years) -or- a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a certified HVACR trades teacher in a vocational/technical construction or maintenance-related training program
Preferred
Associates degree in HVACR from a regionally accredited institution and/or H2 or H3 North Carolina HVACR licensure as a contractor or technician
EPA Section 608 Technician certification (Type I, II, III, or Universal)
Construction Technology Instructor
Minimum
Journey-level (at least 4 years) construction industry experience in any skilled craft trade and a working understanding of the residential building process, from site excavation through certificate of occupancy.
Ability to perform and teach rough carpentry, including floor, wall, and ceiling/roof framing, stair construction, exterior finish work, and roofing fundamentals, with an emphasis on safety and proper use of PPE.
Experience with hand and power tools used in rough and finish carpentry for residential construction.
Knowledge and understanding of current North Carolina residential building codes.
Preferred
Associates degree in Construction Technology or Construction Management from a regionally accredited institution and/or North Carolina licensure as a Building or Residential contractor
Plumbing Instructor
Minimum
Plumbing experience at a minimum journey- or technician-level (at least 4 years) -or- a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a certified Plumbing trades teacher in a vocational/technical construction or maintenance-related training program
Preferred
Associates degree in Plumbing from a regionally accredited institution and/or P-I or P-II North Carolina plumbing licensure as a contractor

Position Description
The instructor is responsible for delivering classroom/lab instruction and supervision for HCC’s Construction Skills & Technology program in one or more of the following subject matter areas: Construction Technology, HVACR, Plumbing, Core. Coursework includes planning, implementation, and evaluation of program components, services, and related activities. The instructor will work closely with the Construction Skills & Technology Coordinator.
