Job Id: ** MCD - 0058 Job Title: Principal Project Accountant Location: Houston, Texas Resource Manager: Marc Morrow Description: Job Title Principal Project Accountant Job Description The Principal Project Accountant will oversee financial reporting of projects, review forecasts at completion, administer the financial aspects of prime contracts with customers and provide meaningful and timely financial information to area project management. •Monitor project accounting related SOX controls and ensure compliance. •Elevate internal control concerns to the appropriate level of management. •Enforce compliance with financial policies and procedures on projects. •Prepare and coordinate and review project cash flow based on input from all relevant sources. Compile area project cash flow •Review project forecasts at completion. •Review estimates to complete for reasonableness and consistency with accounting and costing principles. •Monitor Invoicing and collections. •Interface with projects and auditors( Internal and external). •Cost, revenue and accounts receivable status. •Provide consistent, accurate and timely project financial information to both local and corporate management. •Actively participate in project reviews. •Support proposal efforts and bid reviews with financial data, tax planning and analysis as requested. •Assess and assist with mitigating business risks on projects. •Manage system changes that impact project accounting. •Train and supervise other project accounting staff for the project. Job Requirements Experience: •Min 10 years project accountant experience. •Previous accounting staff supervisory experience preferred Qualifications: •Accounting Degree •Proficient use of Microsoft Office.
