Position Summary:

Catalent Pharma Solutions is Chelsea, MA is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor who is responsible for the performing, documenting, and supervising the required maintenance and operation of the facility systems and equipment in a cGMP manufacturing facility.  The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance of clean utilities, production equipment and mechanical systems.  The Maintenance Supervisor owns leadership responsibilities such as time card approval, performance feedback and reviews, hiring and training of direct reports. 

This is a full-time role position: Monday – Friday, days. 7:00AM – 3:30PM Flexible

This 90,000 square-foot Boston-area facility is Catalent’s global Center of Excellence for spray dry dispersion and Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI) capsule manufacture and packaging. The site features inhaled powder spray drying, as well as multiple commercial-scale lines for capsule filling and blister packaging. On-site spray dryers include best-in-class GEA Niro SD1, SD4 and SD7, the latter being the largest CGMP unit of its kind for DPI in North America.

The Role

  • Supports the installation, startup and commissioning of utility and manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to understand P&IDs, specifications, equipment manuals, and verbal/written work instructions. 
  • Assign, reviews, and completes work orders and preventative maintenance tasks in a timely manner. 
  • Provides guidance and expertise to assess critical parameters for equipment monitoring and operational checks on utilities/manufacturing equipment. 
  • Manage external contractors to meet business needs. 
  • Ensures compliance with training in all areas, including safety, cGMP, and SOP’s
  • Ensures compliance with all city, state, and federal licensing requirements.
  • Assist in managing the facility budget, expense tracking, invoice review, and contract management.
  • Responsible for solving problems or conflicts and maintains open communications with direct reports, business unit managers and department management. 
  • All other duties as assigned;

The Candidate

  • Vocational/trade school degree in a relevant field or equivalent knowledge and experience is required
  • A minimum 5 years of relevant experience preferably in cGMP biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, medical device, food, or other FDA regulated industry
  • Basic to moderate computer skills – including but not limited to e-mail, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet Explorer, and preventative maintenance software
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Working knowledge of service and repair of electrical equipment/systems
  • Working knowledge of service and repair of mechanical equipment/systems
  • Wastewater Treatment License and HAZAT Certification preferred
  • Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds;
