As a Systems Engineer, you will be at the forefront of researching, analyzing, and implementing solutions that ensure robust, secure, and efficient communication for naval operations. Key Responsibilities:
The Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in the development and enhancement of advanced Navy SATCOM systems. This includes the research and analysis of current and emerging technologies, the technical implementation and monitoring of systems, and the provision of fielding support. The successful candidate will work on defining system capabilities, developing specifications for space-based payloads, SATCOM terminals, and network bridging devices, and ensuring the integration of these systems within the Navy's operational framework.
Required Skills and Experience:
5 -10 years of experience in systems engineering within Navy Systems, particularly in Communications Systems, Networks, and Information Assurance.
BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in MILSATCOM space and/or communications terminal systems.
Experience with end-to-end Systems Engineering processes, and demonstrable evidence of defining and adhering to these processes, as well as the development of pertinent associated documentation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Visio, Word, and Excel.
Demonstrated ability to produce and adhere to Department of Defense standard documentation.
Extensive experience with Navy SATCOM operations and systems testing.
Familiarity with system and algorithms analysis, waveform specification, and performance analysis.
Experience in technical documentation, review, generation, and presentation.
Experience with protected and wideband MILSATCOM systems engineering and integrated logistics support (ILS).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Demonstrable evidence of analytical approach to problem solving and decision making
Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Advanced knowledge in networking, including routing, Quality of Service, and radio to router protocols.
Experience in hardware/software design, development, integration, and testing.
MSEE in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Specialized experience in protected and wideband Navy MILSATCOM systems engineering, including digital signal processing and modulation/demodulation techniques.
Knowledge of layer 2 control protocols, physical layer standards, and interface control documents.
