We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Bradford, United States. As the second-in-command in our kitchen, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of food quality and service excellence.
Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and quality control
Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to food safety standards
Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal specials
Manage inventory, place orders, and control food costs
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including HACCP standards
Step in for the Executive Chef when necessary, overseeing all kitchen operations
Participate in menu costing and pricing strategies
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen at all times
Assist in managing kitchen budgets and financial performance
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in a high-volume restaurant
Culinary degree or equivalent culinary education
Excellent culinary skills with a strong focus on taste, presentation, and innovation
In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
Strong leadership and team management abilities
Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
Proficiency in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control
Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP standards
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Demonstrated creativity and attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
Computer literacy, including experience with kitchen management software (preferred)
ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety certification (preferred)
