We are looking for a research scientist to spearhead the study on the structure and evolution of scientific enterprise using network science and machine learning (esp. graph embedding)!
This non-tenure track appointment starts in 2020, initially for one year, with the possibility of additional years of extension, subject to funding and performance. The salary is quite competitive. You will join a dynamic and interdisciplinary team and tackle fundamental questions at the intersection of Science of Science, Machine Learning, and Network Science. You will work with Profs. Yong-Yeol Ahn, Staša Milojević, Alessandro Flammini, and Filippo Menczer at Indiana University, in collaboration with the IU Network Science Institute.
A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is required (Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field). The ideal candidate will have strong computational and statistical skills, a strong track record of publication and collaboration, and experience and competence in managing and analyzing large datasets. Expertise in Machine Learning and/or Network Science will be particularly valued. Domain expertise in Science of Science will also be highly valued, but not strictly required.
