Our client, a leading healthcare provider in Bergen County, has an immediate need for experienced Healthcare Material Handler, to join their growing team in Englewood.
Our candidate choice will contribute to the success of Surgical Procedures by ordering supplies, including equipment determined by surgeons which leads to the successful outcomes of on-time surgeries and expedited room turnover. Reviews the OR schedule in Epic to notate supplies and implants for cases. Creates requisitions for bills and purchase orders, stocks and checks expiration dates.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop an organizational plan of effectively managing the departments and ensures adequate staffing as well as staff development programs.
Selects, trains/orients, and assigns department staff. Develops standards of performance, evaluates performance, and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.
Directs, organizes, and coordinates functions and activities in sterile processing department.
Establishes and monitors methods for preparing, handling, and storing sterile equipment and materials.
Directs the sterilization process, the assembly function, and storage of surgical instrumentation and medical supplies.
Develops and manages salary, supply, and expense budget.
Establishes written standards of practice, consistent with New Jersey State A.O.R.N., A.A.M.I. and performance/compliance.
Monitors the preparation and maintenance of department reports. Prepares periodic reports for management, as required.
Facilitate the operating room materials committee (OMC) meetings.
Maintain tissue tracking system.
Develops, implements, and monitors a surgical case cart program.
Establishes a safe environment and consistently controls and monitors all areas.
Monitors the preparation and maintenance of department reports, and prepares reports for management.
Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of 3 years of materials management experience in a healthcare setting required.
Prior experience placing orders for OR procedure supplies, scanning, receiving, and shelving supplies.
Strong communication skills for interfacing with physicians and their offices in preparation for procedures.
Associates Degree with 1-2 years specific OR Procedure/OR Supply experience or
High School Diploma with 3-5 years specific OR Procedure/ OR Supply experience.
Technician Training.
Certified C.S. Management Training.
Surgical Technician or five years’ experience.
BS or BA Preferred.
Basic knowledge of reimbursement methodology
