Description

General Summary

Responsible for inspecting scheduled preventative maintenance and customer requested repairs in the healthcare facility. Perform safety, quality, fire and housekeeping inspections and determine corrective actions. This position is located at the United States Naval Academy.  Our mission is providing highly responsive and quality facility support to the midshipmen, staff, faculty and sailors located in Annapolis at USNA and Naval Support Annapolis.  We offer 11 paid holidays, generous PTO that accrues from day 1 and flexible benefit plans tailored to your needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct maintenance, safety, quality, fire and inspections
  • Gather monthly inspection data and submit reports to Quality Manager to submit to the Public Works Department as a deliverable
  • Use the Maximo system to extract and input maintenance records, search for scheduled maintenance orders and print reports
  • Research required safety information for electric, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry trades
  • Schedule inspection activities
  • Communicate with site management regarding feedback from maintenance services and customer related issues to ensure contract compliance
  • Conduct safety related training sessions
  • Research quality and safety related information; incorporate information into policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with quality inspections
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge in the trades of electric, HVAC, plumbing and carpentry or knowledge of utility plant operations or experience as a Maryland 1st Class Engineer
  • Knowledge of NFPA and OSHA guidelines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Team player Completion of 10 hour OSHA course
  • Must be able to communicate, in English orally and/or in writing, fluently enough to ensure quick and accurate communication.

Physical, Environmental and Sensory Requirements

  • Works in office areas as well as throughout the facility.
  • Physical demands include intermittent sitting, standing, and walking, and occasional bending reaching and lifting.
  • Limited exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc. but generally not to the point of being disagreeable.
