Job Summary

Safety Co-Op will work closely with the Facilities and Operations teams to implement processes, procedures, training plans, and reporting requirements for various safety, regulatory, environmental, chemical, and health-related requirements.

Essential Functions
  • Review of existing Job Hazard Analysis and recommendations for improvement
  • Conduct risk assessments
  • Review the Site Safety Plan and recommend updates
  • Time studies for safety activities
  • Root cause analysis on safety-related topics
  • Recommend best practices for auditing safety activities
  • Coordinates and participates in internal audit activities
  • Ensure proper process for handling and disposition of materials
  • Conduct investigations associated with EHS issues as required
  • Drive timely resolution of corrective and preventative actions
  • Conduct, document and establish processes for annual chemical inventories
  • Review of existing required OSHA training and ensure effectiveness
  • Modify existing safety training, including requirements for programs included in the training plan, the content of training, validate employees included/excluded from training, scheduled for optimization, and inclusion of best practices
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
  • Enrolled in the school Safety Engineering or Safety related degree program during the time of rotation
  • 2 years or more of college-level classes
  • 3.0 GPA or better
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Microsoft Office proficiency – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Creation of Adobe forms
  • Technical writing skills with ability to convey knowledge clearly and concisely
