Description

Essential Functions:

  • Performs electrical repairs on items such as appliances, fixtures, switches, outlets, circuits, light fixtures and ballasts.
  • Performs plumbing work such as cleaning stoppages and replacing fittings.
  • Paints apartments and common areas; hang, prep and sand drywall.
  • Assists in move-in and move-out procedures.
  • Maintains cleanliness, order, and safety in maintenance shop.
  • Assists in outdoor grounds work, when necessary, including grounds policing and snow removal.
  • Participates in on-call schedule for evening, weekend and holiday coverage.
  • Assists residents in/out of bus
  • Interacts with residents in a positive manner
  • Responsible for maintenance/cleanliness of bus
  • Immediately inform the Executive Director of any potential repairs for bus
  • Maintains open communication lines with the Activities Director and Receptionist
  • Must possess a valid driver's license & clean driving record
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated plumbing, electrical, or carpentry skills required.
  • Must be available to be on call for emergencies on evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle required.
  • Responsible for the installation of lamps, ballasts and other electrical components in various types of fixtures for a varied customer base
  • Able to troubleshoot minor electrical problems within various types of fixtures and equipment
  • Required to work indoors on ladders, scaffolding, or lifts as well as outdoors on a bucket truck or lift to a height up to 85’

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in site maintenance required
  • HVAC certification preferred
  • Certificate in basic electrical repair preferred
