As a Machinist, you will program, set-up, adjust, and operate manual and/or Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining center, lathes, and milling machines where set-up, detail and operating procedures are prescribed; manual machining involves special one-off parts or prototype parts.
Job Responsibilities:
- Studies blueprints, sketches, drawing and specifications.
- Set-up bore gauges and other inspection equipment.
- Complete all required paperwork including labor reporting and documentation of quality control and material movement.
- Work safely and maintain the work area with high standards of housekeeping.
- Performs required Preventative Maintenance activities on machinery and/or equipment operated.
- Performs manual machining and CNC machining under the direction of Machinist Journeyman or Supervisor
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervision.
Minimum Qualifications:
- E.D. or High School Diploma
Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Knowledge and experience of machining practices and techniques
- Basic Mechanical principles
- Shop mathematics
- Blueprint reading
- Standing for extended periods of time, bending, reaching sitting, medium to heavy lifting (medium = 50 pounds maximum/25 pounds frequently, heavy = 100 pounds maximum/50 pounds frequently), visual acuity, and hand dexterity
- Knowledge of CNC controls
- Forklift operation experience
- Knowledge of precision measuring tools
Working Conditions:
- Typical hours of work Monday through Friday; 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Weekend hours as necessary
