Wilson & Company is currently seeking a Mechanical National Practice Leader to manage our private infrastructure mechanical engineering and design teams, with a focus in the industrial, rail, chemical, mid-stream, mining, utility, heavy commercial and institutional sectors. The ideal candidate is experienced in leading team operations, technically proficient in greenfield projects and modernization, debottlenecking, and renovations for mechanical process systems in the identified market sectors. A strong understanding and background in building systems, power piping, process systems, stress analysis, fluid flow analysis, PFD & P&IDs, strong communication skills, developed organizational skills, and ability to collaborate with others to support the goals of Company, are expectations for any candidate.

As a practice lead, you will be responsible for holistically representing Wilson & Company, collaborating with other practice leads, sector leads, and client account teams throughout the company to leverage Wilson & Company’s full-service capabilities across our various regions and clientele.

The position’s role and responsibilities include:

·Supports company’s strategic objectives, processes, and tools.

·Is a Wilson & Company brand ambassador.

·Is transparent and communicates with appropriate stakeholders within the organization.

·Is accountable for meeting key performance indicators (KPI’s)

oUtilization

oPayroll Multiplier

oSales, bookings, and backlog for resource planning

oNet multiplier at the task level

oVariance at the practice/task level

oCash Management (AR & WIP) for Project Managers (PMs)

oPeople development, mentoring and training.

oRecruitment and retention

·Ensure that mentoring, training, and development of project teams is conducted at all levels.

·Ensure that goals pertaining to intentional staffing planning, recruitment and retention are met.

·Mentors, collaborates, and oversees regional and practice leads and project managers that support the sector.

·Oversees that additional goals related to company programs and teams are met within their practice area:

oEnsure profitability of assets

oEnsure safety programs and processes are followed.

oEnsure quality management programs and processes are followed.

·Develops and maintains strong internal and external relationships to grow Wilson & Company’s presence within their practice area and across identified and new market sectors.

·Supports client account management (CAM) team and engages other support as needed to build strong zippered relationships.

·Mentors, collaborates, and oversees project managers throughout their practice area.

·Engages and collaborates with marketing team.

·Enter and maintain applicable data using Vantagepoint.

oProject opportunity lists

oMarketing campaigns

·Works with sector leads on sales and growth opportunities within their practice area.

oCollaborates with others to pursue and win work utilizing the pursuit life cycle process.

·Identifies, assesses, and manages risk in collaboration with sector leads and project teams.

·Identifies and engages in professional organizations and key conferences/industry events critical to support of growing practice area.

·Tracks and communicates client/industry trends in types of work, funding, priorities, and future direction of sector services.

·Understands, promotes, and markets all Wilson & Company’s technical offerings.

·Ensures the firms best interests are served when pursuing work.

·Travel will be necessary and may be international to Canada and Mexico.

·The position will conform to Wilson & Company’s flexible work policy and is not a hybrid or remote work position.

·Developing work breakdown structures, work loading forecasting, project estimating, scope identification, and schedule development.

·A working knowledge of scheduling tools.

·Anticipate registering in additional states as required based on our customer base.

Required Skills

To be considered, the candidate must have working knowledge and familiarity with mechanical design codes and software.This should include:

Codes:

·ASME

·ASHRAE

·National Fire Protection Association

·Piping codes, B31.1, B31.3

·International Plumbing Code

Software:

·Microsoft Office software

·Power Point

·MS Project, or equivalent

·Stress analysis software

·Fluid flow analysis and process system analysis

Required Experience

Relevant experience in the identified market sectors.

·Fifteen plus years of experience, a current licensure as a professional engineer,

·Significant experience that demonstrates successful management and financial responsibility of the engineering business.

·Excellence in managing project pursuits, preparing proposals, and working with marketing staff.

Annual Salary Range: $145,000.00 - $180,000.00 (Depending on Experience)
