Position Summary

Provides quality therapy and care to patients suffering cardiopulmonary, neurological or other metabolic disturbances which require the administration of various treatments; communicates with physician concerning efficacy of therapy, instructs patients, takes phone orders and performs other cardiopulmonary care services functions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent and completion of a Respiratory Care Program approved by the American Medical Association.
  •  Registration as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Oregon.
  •  Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Experience preferred.
  • Obtain BLS certification within three months of hire, and maintain as current.
  • Obtain ACLS within six months of hire and maintain as current.
  • Obtain PALS within six months of hire and maintain as current preferred.
  • Obtain NRP within six months of hire and maintain as current preferred

Essential Job Functions

  • Conducts a program of treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system in a safe and therapeutically effective manner.
  • Administers and documents medication in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Correctly administers Cardiopulmonary Care Services in accordance with Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintains awareness of environmental conditions and initiates corrective intervention as indicated.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with the medical staff.
  • Possess an expanded level of technical competence that is shared effectively with other staff members.
