Job Description

This role requires a highly motivated and experienced accounting professional with a track record of success overseeing global revenue accounting operations. In this leadership role, you will collaborate closely with worldwide cross functional teams to ensure compliance with revenue recognition guidelines (ASC-606) and provide corporate guidance on revenue recognition policy and procedures.  This role provides an opportunity to develop and mentor your team, oversee systems and controls, lead corporate initiatives towards process improvement and transformational projects to achieve best in class results.

This position is best suited for an accounting professional who possesses strong communication, organization, technology and leadership skills as well as enjoys working in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position will be managing the end-to-end accounting, business, and system processes in compliance with revenue recognition guidance (ASC 606) and has significant responsibility for analyzing and reporting revenue for the Company
  • This role will lead the day-to-day operations on all issues related to the revenue cycle function, provide analysis, create written processes, and train others in implementing a cross-functional revenue cycle
  • Act as primary internal expert and key contact with respect to requirements and impact on the revenue recognition cycle as projects are deployed
  • Responsible for month-end and quarter-end close activities (including deferral and recognition of cost of revenue under ASC 340, revenue recognition under ASC 606, and monthly management reporting packages)
  • Work closely with company’s internal and external auditors to ensure approved revenue policies are consistently adhered to and monitored, and to support quarterly/annual audits
  • Assist with revenue forecast, modeling and process improvement
  • Partner with other departments to streamline processes related to revenue and cost recognition
  • Provide training and education to staff on revenue cycle processes, policies and procedures
  • Guide and motivate a team of accounting professionals to grow their career, including development of technical and presentation skill sets.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Finance/Accounting (or equivalent experience) with knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition guidelines (ASC-606) with 10+ years of overall experience, CPA or MBA preferred
  • Leadership skills and experience in directing and managing a team
  • This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and make a significant impact on revenue recognition processes
  • Experience in SAP and Oracle Cloud environments a plus
  • Consistent record of accomplishment of establishing relationships with cross-functional business partners
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven experience in preparing and justifying revenue recognition documentation for external audits
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and familiarity with financial reporting processes
