Outpatient Telehealth Therapist (for Children/Adolescents & Adults)

Division: Adults and Children/Adolescent Services

WellStone is seeking candidates to fulfill the role of Master's level Telehealth Therapist (Licensed Preferred). The Therapist will provide Telehealth services for children/adolescents, adults, family members of clients, and the therapeutic team to support the client's growth.  This opportunity is open to the residents of the Huntsville, AL and surrounding area.

Part-Time - 12 hours per week - Work From Home:

  • Thursday - 5pm to 9pm
  • Friday - 5pm to 9pm
  • Saturday - 8am to 12pm

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in mental health discipline
  • Clinical Licensure Preferred (LPC, LICSW, LMSW, LMHC or LMFT)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience dealing with Children and Adults with Mental Illness
  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • Good organizational and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of community agencies and resources

Duties:

  • Conduct individual and/or family therapy for both Children and Adult clients
  • Perform initial assessments, and prepare documentation of such for client in electronic charts
  • Prepare, with client, a treatment plan to include goals
  • Document progress of client to goals as outlined in the Treatment Plan
  • Present cases to Psychiatrist(s) regarding client's medicine as needed
  • Provide Crisis Intervention as needed
  • Coordinate referrals with WellStone staff
  • Participate in various meetings to include department, divisional or other meetings as required by the Coordinator
  • Complete billing documentation in a timely and accurate manner
  • Conduct follow-up with clients and family members as needed
  • Maintain appropriate number of billable hours each month
  • Document in electronic medical record
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of special needs and behavioral characteristics of Children and Adults with serious Mental Illness, Substance Abuse, Co-occurring Disorders
  • Knowledge of the community and available community & State resources
  • Knowledge of psychotherapy principles and techniques
  • Knowledge of psychotropic medications including their use and possible side effects
  • Ability to perform individual assessments
  • Ability to make clinical decisions and/or recommendations in a crisis situation
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, written, expressive and oral
  • Ability to organize and manage one's own activities with a minimum of direct supervision
