WellStone is North Alabama’s most comprehensive behavioral healthcare provider serving over 13,000 persons a year in Huntsville and Cullman.  We are a non-profit community organization that offers a wide range of services for every phase of life, from children to older adults.  

Ensure that clients and their families receive compassionate, strengths focused, and person-centered treatment with the scope of practice regulations governing WellStone, including the use of evidence-based practices. Evaluate mental health status of clients through psychiatric assessments and focused medical assessments in EHR. Develop and implement interventions that may include therapy, medication, and referral to community resources. Provide inter and intra-agency continuity of care services while following HIPAA and all other applicable regulations. Full time 1st shift 

What we're looking for:

• Masters of Nursing and licensed as RN and CRNP in Alabama
• Clinical Specialty in the appropriate area of practice and working with adults
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language; Spanish helpful
• Computer literacy including use of Microsoft Office, internet applications, and use of Electronic Health Records (EHR)
• Demonstrate the ability to work with a Multi-Disciplinary team and community partners
• Knowledge of the DSM-V, ability to formulate diagnoses, and prescribe legend drugs
• Must be able to maintain current Licensing, training, and ethical requirements

What you'll be doing:

• Conducting comprehensive individual assessments, including assessing for suicidal/homicidal risk and instituting emergency measures and emergency treatment or appropriate stabilization measures.
• Use of electronic prescription and medication management tools to authorize legend drugs and order lab tests as appropriate.
• Counsel, educate, and assist consumers and their families to assume responsibility for self-care in the prevention of illness, health maintenance, recovery, health restoration, and in understanding medication side effects and warnings.
• Perform follow-up and medication monitoring for existing consumers.
• Other duties as assigned.
