WellStone has broken ground for the new Pediatric WellStone Emergency Services (WES) facility where we will care for pediatric clients who are having a behavioral health crisis, the first facility of its kind in Madison County. We are recruiting for a Pediatric Unit Coordinator to supervise the services and daily operations of the new facility, set to open in the near future.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology or related field
  • 2 years post master’s experience with population
  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • Excellent timeframe management, multi-tasking skills

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for services and daily operation of the pediatric unit at WES’ Crisis Diversion Center

• Ensure Therapeutic sessions are conducted, coordinating with family members as needed, and instruct staff on continuous quality improvement opportunities

• Monitor all documentation to include treatment plans, BLS notes, financial reports, progress notes, medical records, etc. to ensure all are accurate, timely and thorough.  Ensure staff training is current and up to date per the DMH Administrative Code

• Provide supervision, instruction and job coaching to all staff on a consistent basis

• Ensure adequate staffing of facilities, approving leave requests, back-filling positions as well as interviewing, selecting quality applicants for a PRN staff pool

• Train staff through in-services, staff meetings, performance appraisals, performance improvement plans, documenting expectations and requirements to ensure effective daily operations

• Ensure facility and company vehicles are in compliance with health, safety, funding and regulatory requirements.

• Manage finances in regards to the facility budget, which includes management of overtime,  equipment/materials, utilities and personnel. 

• Coordinate placements, intakes, and discharges with Treatment Team

• Perform rounds with Treatment Teams as scheduled and ensure shift change staffing takes place.

• Ensure staff schedules are adhered to and leave is scheduled according to policies and not abused and document any guidance, issues/concerns and job coach employees to adhere to standards  

• Accept supervision and carry out assigned tasks from the WES Director in a timely manner and  communicate on a regular basis and provide information pertinent to the operations.

• Ensure compliance with external administrative and clinical standards of care and applicable laws, including DMH, Medicaid, and State & Federal laws  

• Provide performance improvement staff de-briefings based on incidents that may occur in the facility

• Ensure incident reports are completed timely and accurately and submitted within the required timeframes

• Manage staff productivity and concurrent documentation

• Provide direct clinical supervision, consultation and direction as needed

• Provide crisis intervention as needed or required

• Fill in as Therapist when necessary to perform individual, family and/or group therapy

• Other duties as assigned by the WES Director, Chief Clinical Officer or as directed by the CEO
