WellStone is North Alabama's most comprehensive behavioral healthcare provider serving over 13,000 persons annually throughout Northern Alabama, with offices in Huntsville and Cullman. We are a non-profit community organization that offers a wide range of services for every phase of life, from children to older adults.

We are hiring for an Adult Services Director.

What we're looking for:

  • Masters Degree & license eligible in social services related field.
  • 3 years post-masters experience in behavioral healthcare.
  • 2 years experience in management & supervision.
  • Demonstrated compliance with external standards, including the Alabama Department of Mental Health, Medicaid, State & Federal laws.
  • Demonstrated compliance with internal program and organizational policies, procedures, & operational protocols.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills & computer literate.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain trust with others through exhibiting personal character and professional competence. 

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide strategic planning and development for mental health & Substance Abuse services for persons age 18 and over for the following programs: Adult Outpatient, Substance Abuse-NHRC, Levels, Day Treatment: Rehab Day, Adult Intensive Day Treatment.  
  • Act as a liaison for external stakeholders to ensure open communication and effective problem solving.
  • Represent the organization at local, statewide, and national events for the purpose of enhancing quality of care and our public relations.
  • Ensure compliance with external administrative and clinical standards of care and applicable laws, including DMH, Medicaid, and State & Federal laws.
  • Provide crisis intervention to substance abuse clients or dually diagnosed clients as indicated. 
  • Ensure program meets all the Wellstone's policies/procedures, and SMG S/A Standards.
  • Organize treatment team and conduct weekly staffing progress meetings for clients.
  • Review client enrollment in SA program.
  • Maintain communication with existing referral sources and develop new referral sources to enhance and grow the program. 
  • Monitor Drug Court.
  • Assess and provide substance abuse services to clients in a group, individual, or family setting.
  • Maintain a high-quality documentation and records management in a timely fashion.
  • Provide and supervise discharge planning of clients upon completion of treatments. 
  • Provide direct clinical supervision, consultation, and services as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
