About the role:

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Key Account Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be based in New York, Pennsylvania or Ohio. This role will manage the main OEMs for Commercial Motors, aiming to improve customer satisfaction and promote share of wallet growth within current customer base as well as new high potential prospects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage Commercial Motors OEMs in the US from a sales and application engineering standpoint.
  • Develop and implement a strategy that delivers customer satisfaction and promotes WEG`s share of wallet growth in these customers, aligning the customer needs with the full companies’ value proposition.
  • Manage all commercial aspects including volume forecasting, pricing, contract management, commercial agreements.
  • Manage product approval process into the accounts, allowing the product to be commercialized.
  • Work closely with peers in Operations, Engineering, Finance, HR and other functional areas to get results and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead internal teams, including developers, engineers, architects, quality assurance, and operations. Ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations.
  • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify, and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth.
  • Promote and lead strategic discussions with the OEMs to provide best footprint and product strategy to guarantee a robust supply chain, leveraging WEG`s differentiated footprint to generate value to the customer.
  • Maintain a pro-active approach identifying win-win opportunities in the account, engaging the customer in early stages of new developments.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, business/marketing (MBA preferred but not required) or equivalent work experience.

Knowledge / training:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with the motor and/or similar industry. Experience in technical type of sales.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • High level of personal initiative, leadership, energy, and ownership of results.
  • Solid experience interacting with both internal and external customers is required.
  • Proven ability to analyze, interpret and draw meaningful and accurate conclusions from data.
  • Ability to develop strategic plans and drive tactical execution.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel / Word / Power Point)
  • Willingness to travel as needed (appros. 35%) primarily in US with rare international travel as needed.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of engineering, marketing, product management and/or sales experience in a manufacturing company environment.
