Required Education and Experience: Current Florida license as a Registered Nurse. BSN degree preferred. One or more years of comprehensive experience in both impatient and outpatient settings.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Current CPR certification. ACLS & Pals certification to be completed within 6 months of employment. 2 years ER or Critical Care experience required.

Essential Functions
Evaluates and manages patient needs. Plans patient care utilizing physician protocol and professional judgment. Notifies physician of patient’s status based on urgency.

Identifies and evaluates patient needs by way of telephone triage.

Administers medications, including injections and IVs; documents medication given or prescribed by ordering physician as required by specialty.

Recognizes and responds to emergency situations as appropriate.

Identifies and evaluates the emergent needs of Urgent Care patient. Treats emergent patients in the most expedient manner possible.

Identifies patient and family education needs and provides instruction. Determines patient’s level of understanding of their disease process and formulate educational plan (i.e. medications, procedures, surgical or procedural preps, or instruction).

Provides patient teaching and information based on physician based on physician order, planned intervention, patient comprehension level.

Demonstration awareness of self-responsibility & accountability for own professional practice.

Practices nursing skills in accordance with licensure and Clinic P+P.

Exercises good judgment in decision making to ensure quality patient care outcomes.

Assists the doctor with patient exams & medical procedures.

Documents information in the EMR regarding status.
