Job Description
VEA is seeking a Business Analyst to join a team responsible for developing advanced analytics products; applying data visualization and statistical programming tools to enterprise data to advance and enable the client’s key mission outcomes. In this role, the analyst will support all phases of analytic work product development, from the identification of key business questions to ETL, from performing analyses to delivery of insights to decision-makers, with particular attention to the interplay between data and the business processes that produce and consume it.
Responsibilities:
- Manage acquisition, deployment, utilization, tracking, security, and final disposition of IT asset
- Experience outlining and documenting programmatic, technical and client business requirements
- Ability to decompose a technical problem into its sub-components and build a plan to rigorously tackle the analysis that is defensible and repeatable
- Engaging with multiple clients and thriving in fast-paced work environment with multiple stakeholders
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Minimum of an active Top Secret clearance
- B.S. or BA. Computer Science, Information systems, Business Administration (concentration in technology) or equivalent military or work experience
- Excellent communication
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Experience or familiarity with a wide range of analytics techniques, such as statistics, simulation modeling, optimization, machine learning, or natural language processing
- Hands-on experience with data providing meaningful, actionable insights to improve business processes and outcomes for clients.
- Able to communicate technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to multi-task on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment; able to manage project tasks, scope change, and schedules to keep projects on-track
- Experience with SharePoint
- Experience with data support to advanced analytics
- Experience leveraging data analysis to construct strategic narratives
- High-performing team player
- Confidence to drive assignments to completion
- Eagerness to learn and develop
- Strong strategic communication skills to include presenting quantitative concepts in easy-to-understand formats and actively listening to identify business problems and their causes
