Whittier Dog & Cat Hospital is an established and well reputed animal hospital with a friendly staff that sees dogs, cats, and some exotics in Whittier, CA. We are a fully equipped, spacious hospital that has been serving the companion animals of Whittier since 1965. Our sister hospital, Southeast Pet Hospital, is a short 10-minute drive away where you can have a wonderful opportunity to interact with the very friendly staff of both the hospitals. We’re a hardworking team that is seeking a Full-Time Veterinarian to join our growing practices.
This is an ideal opportunity for new grads or experienced veterinarians that enjoy a variety of interesting internal medicine and surgical cases, including routine, soft tissue, and orthopedic surgeries. New graduates are encouraged to apply as our team of doctors would love to mentor a new graduate and experienced vets can expect to seamlessly join a friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Our Practice
Our hospital is fully equipped with all the bells and whistles, including:
- Digital blood pressure machine and Doppler
- IDEXX lab, including ProCyte Dx (CBC), LaserCyte (chemistry) and Sedivue machine (instant UA)
- Digital radiographs – standard and dental
- Bluetooth ECG and instant advice from the Cardiologists
- Advance monitors
- New cautery and coagulation machine
- Bair Hugger warming unit
- Hot dog warming unit attached to the surgical table
- A new modern and compact ICU for oxygen therapy and nebulization

Location
Located just 20 minutes southeast of Los Angeles, California, Whittier is a large, diverse city, home to many historic landmarks and reputable school districts. Historic uptown Whittier boasts many wonderful restaurants, shopping outlets, and a bustling night-life. Whittier is a short commute to Orange County beaches and attractions such as Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm. Los Angeles is a large, cosmopolitan city with plenty of CE programs, wet labs, and the ability to interact with specialists for internal medicine and surgical cases.

The salary for this position can range between $120,000-$150,000 + annually for a 40-hour work week (4/10s) and will be determined based on previous experience, skill set, and practice type.
