Summary:

The Assistant Clinical Director (ACD) provides both administrative and clinical leadership to all staff and designated teams. The ACD provides direct supervision and oversight of assigned Clinical Supervisors (CS). The ACD directly supports families by responding to questions and concerns.

The Assistant Clinical Director will utilize, understand, and apply work practices aligned with the core values and strategic plan of Verbal Beginnings. The PC will also work closely with the Clinical Director (CD) and Center Director to develop, implement, and monitor company-wide systems, supports, and programs to ensure quality services for clients, efficient and effective supervision of CSs and client programs, and clinical and administrative support for staff.

About You:

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst in good standing (BCBA)
  • Completion of 8 hour supervision course approved by the BACB
  • Licensure to practice ABA in the State of Maryland (LBA) or willingness to get licensed prior to start date
  • BLS/CPR certification including pediatric BLS/CPR
  • 2+ years of experience as a BCBA in a center based environment
  • Previous experience supervising BCBAs

As an Assistant Clinical Director, you will:

  • Provide supervisory support to assigned CSs to ensure they achieve the appropriate level of job independence for high quality clinical service delivery for clients and their families.
  • Provide the designated level of direct, supervisory, and consultative ABA services to assigned clients.
  • Provide a minimum level of service delivery hours as assigned and for coverage, as needed.
  • Complete intakes and assessments for clients as assigned.
  • Train CSs on new company policies and procedures.
  • Train CSs to standardize and implement clinical programs.
  • Train CSs to provide effective positive leadership utilizing Verbal Beginnings’ 5 Core Leader Behaviors.
  • Ensure that assigned clients’ programs are appropriate and effective.
  • Attend and lead Team and Supervisory meetings.
  • Provide clinical support to CSs including but not limited to: feedback during program reviews, training clinical competencies, providing feedback on progress notes.
  • Address concerns from and about clients’ caregivers and communicate issues.
  • Conduct evaluations of CS’s performance as assigned, through reviews, data analysis, and observation, and provide feedback based on those evaluations
  • Collaborate with CSs and CD to disseminate programming, research, and effective teaching procedures.
  • Develop systems and teaching procedures in order to make program development and implementation efficient throughout the center.
  • Present CEU events on a rotating basis.
