Position: Bookkeeper, Property Management
Reports to: Controller
Location: Northeast Washington, DC
Hours: Full-time, non-exempt (40 hours), Monday through Friday, typically 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
Compensation: $24-$25/hour

UIP Property Management (UIPPM) seeks a detail-oriented Bookkeeper with residential property management experience. The ideal candidate will be an organized, self-motivated professional with a strong accounting background and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities
- Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts, posting transactions, ensure legal requirements compliance
- Balance accounts by reconciling entries
- Process invoices and payments to vendors
- Collect and keep accurate records of rental payments and late fees
- Initiate late payment calls, reconcile A/R, and follow-up on collections as required
- Keep track of costs associated with properties
- Communicate with property management team members and accountant about various accounting matters
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
- Other duties and activities, as requested.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of professional experience
- Two years or more of bookkeeping in property management
- Proficiency with Yardi or other property management software and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High degree of confidentiality and discretion
- Ability to self-manage and perform recurring tasks in a timely manner
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
