Description
The Division of Rheumatology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking applicants to fill a full-time Clinical Instructor or Clinical Assistant Professor position. The successful candidate will have opportunities for both inpatient and outpatient clinical work with patient care options at Harborview Medical Center and the University of Washington Medical Center (Montlake and Northwest Campuses).
This individual will have teaching duties that include clinical bedside teaching of medical students, residents and fellows. Clinical faculty hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
This position will be at the Clinical Instructor or Clinical Assistant Professor level commensurate with experience and qualifications. The anticipated start date will be October 1, 2023.
The base salary range for this position under the Clinical Instructor title will be: $13,334 - $15,000 per month ($160,008 - $180,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. The base salary range for this position under the Clinical Assistant Professor title will be: $14,167 - $15,834 per month ($170,004 - $190,008 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
Other compensation associated with this position may include month additional compensation (MAC), semi-annual additional compensation (SAAC), and incentive pay.

Qualifications
Requirements include an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and Board Eligibility or Certification in Rheumatology (or foreign equivalent) to be considered for a position with a mix of daytime and nighttime assignments
To be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
