The Division of Gastroenterology, Department of Medicine at the University of Washington is recruiting a full-time (1.0 FTE) clinical faculty member at the Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor level with expertise in the management of luminal gastroenterology diseases and disorders based out of the internationally recognized Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (FHCC). This position will hold an annual appointment that aligns with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Weeknight call will be shared with 5 Faculty based at FHCC. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. We seek applicants with diverse backgrounds and welcome all applications, including individuals currently completing fellowship training.

This position will predominantly involve consults and procedures on FHCC outpatients in the FHCC outpatient GI clinic at the FHCC-South Lake Union campus, equipped with a new state-of-the-art endoscopy procedure suite. Duties include clinical management of oncology patients with gastrointestinal disorders (with ample opportunities to care for patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplant, receiving cellular and targeted antibody immunotherapies, or receiving experimental therapies as part of large clinical trials), general endoscopy (upper endoscopy, enteroscopy, colonoscopy, fecal microbiota transplantation, and routine endoscopic interventions), and teaching. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Teaching responsibilities would involve oversight of fellows during clinical activities, in concert with the GI Fellowship program.

The base salary range for this position will be: $23,000- $33,000 per month ($276,000- $396,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position will include Monthly Additional Compensation (MAC) with a range of: $3,000-$6,000 per month ($36,000- $72,000 annually). This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Estimated start date in July 1, 2024.

Qualifications

The candidate will have a recognized MD degree (or foreign equivalent), completed an ACGME accredited Gastroenterology Fellowship and ABIM certification and maintenance of certification in Gastroenterology (or foreign equivalent). Applicants must either have or be eligible for medical licensure in Washington State.
