The Department of Surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking applications for Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery. This unique opportunity consists of a full-time UW faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor WOT (without tenure by reason of funding) providing vascular surgery care via the UW Medicine Regional Vascular Center at the University of Washington Medical Center and Harborview Medical Center campuses. UW Medicine is one of the world’s foremost academic health centers serving the Pacific Northwest and WWAMI region (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho). The UW vascular surgery program is a national and international leader in volume, clinical outcomes, research, and education.
The successful candidate will maintain a clinical practice in vascular surgery while participating in the education of surgical residents, medical students, and vascular surgery fellows. Furthermore, the candidate should maintain the research vision for the division and provide academic and clinical leadership to division faculty consisting of 15 vascular surgeons and 8 advanced practice providers. This position will provide strategic clinical and educational operational leadership to the health system and will include nomination for the Alexander Clowes Endowed Chair in Vascular Surgery. Salary and academic appointment at the University of Washington is commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and experience. This position will have an annual service period of 12 months (July 1 – June 30) with an anticipated start date in Spring/Summer 2024.
At the rank of Associate Professor (WOT), the base salary range for this position will be: $33,834 - $36,417 per month ($406,008 - $437,004 annually). At the rank of Professor (WOT), the base salary range for this position will be: $39,417 - $45,834 per month ($473,004 - $550,008 annually). Base salaries at all ranks will be commensurate with candidate experience and qualifications. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Other compensation associated with this position may include variable incentive through UWP and an Administrative Supplement for the Division leadership position. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
· MD (or foreign equivalent)
· At least seven years of experience in clinical practice in vascular surgery
· Board certified (or foreign equivalent) in surgery
· Have successfully completed a vascular surgery fellowship
· Demonstrated expertise in vascular surgery with evidence of excellent clinical outcomes
· Eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington
· Prior expertise in leadership as measured by mentorship of others and leadership positions in their health system and/or national organizations.
· In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
