Description
The Division of Education is seeking a part-time Montana Teacher Residency Program (MTRP) Coordinator to oversee the recruitment, placement, and support of Residents across Montana. The MTRP Coordinator will work closely with the current MTRP Coordinator, Division Chair of Education, and the Manager of Field Placement to recruit and place students into the Residency. Additionally, this person will work with school districts to recruit and support placement opportunities for students. Once Residents are placed, the MTRP Coordinator will help serve as a point of contact with the MTRP Coordinator, for Residents, school districts, and other stakeholders with regard to all communications and program assessments. While helping coordinate the MTRP for AY 2024-2025, systems will be further developed to create sustainability and grow program capacity for AY 2025-2026 and beyond. Potential for the position to be filled through a combination of in-person and remote work and to become full-time.
Duties Include:
- ·Recruit students to serve as Residents
- ·Recruit school districts to host Residents
- ·Assist in developing programs of study for course completion for all Residents
- ·Work with Business Services and Financial Aid offices to coordinate fund distributions
- ·Work with Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs) across the state to involve all interested EPPs in the MTRP
- ·Trouble shoot issues that arise throughout the Residency
- ·Coordinate university supervision for all Residents from UMW
- ·Create support materials for the MTRP, including a Residency Handbook
- ·Create application procedures and forms
- ·Maintain databases/records for the MTRP
- ·Act as a liaison and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of constituencies.
- ·Support Residents throughout their placements.
- ·Recommend Residents for licensure upon completion of their programs
- ·Participate in Education Division meetings
Requirements
- ·Minimum of an associate’s degree.
- ·Positive affect and professional disposition.
- ·Employ strong interpersonal skills for working with a diverse group of individuals and campus offices on a day-to-day basis.
- ·Ability to problem-solve, resolve conflicts, and facilitate resolution of issues that arise.
- ·Excellent oral, written, and editing skills.
- ·Strong technology skills.
- ·Work effectively under pressure and maintain a pleasant attitude.
- ·Perform duties and responsibilities with minimal direct supervision.
- ·Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive issues, and make sound decisions using good judgement, tact, and sensitivity.
Preferred
- ·Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
- ·Experience/background in educational field.
