Coordinates patient care activity on the phone and in the office and clinic, providing necessary support to the physician within established guidelines. Patient care activities within scope of nursing practice will include but are not limited to patient assessment, medication management, collaboration with healthcare providers, patient education, procedural management, and other duties as assigned. Assists with clinical coordinator of Ross Procedure for Division of Cardiac Surgery.

• Provides compassionate and high quality nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing functions of patients on the unit.
• Initiates and implements patient care plan.
• Makes nursing assignments appropriate to the skill level of employees.
• Maintains evidence-based standards of patient care.
• Promotes a culture of patient safety when providing care.
• Identifies problems and guides personnel to their solution.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree, or diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution

* Current Maryland licensure or eligibility to obtain Maryland licensure

* Excellent customer service and communication skills

* Two to three years clinical experience preferred

* CPR certification is required

*Previous cardiac surgery experience preferred

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position.Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
