Collaborates with the Chief Strategic & Business Development Officer (CSBDO) and Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer (EVP/CAO) of the University of Maryland Faculty Physicians Inc. (FPI) in developing strategic marketing strategies over the entire FPI enterprise. Responsibilities include analysis of current markets and market research; the development, implementation, and measurement of a marketing plan for all Practice Associations (PAs) within FPI as well as entities within the Faculty Practice Enterprises (FPE). Responsible for the tactical direction of all FPI marketing initiatives across FPI and FPE. Leads and coordinates the development, implementation, promotion and evaluation of consumer and physician marketing strategy, thought leadership, branding, communications, reputation management efforts, physician outreach, and media relations. Directs and manages personnel as well as operating budget. Partners with executive leadership to determine current/forecasted needs and goals of the organization and its clinical practices. Evaluates return on investment and reports outcomes to key stakeholders. Collaborates with colleagues across campus entities and departments to establish strategy, share valuable knowledge, and ensure alignment; and other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in marketing, public relations, or a health-related field required, or equivalent combinations of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities have been acquired
- Ten (10) years of experience in marketing (preferably health care related) that includes knowledge of multiple marketing vehicles. Five years of leadership experience.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in creating and executing a marketing plan in a highly complex environment required
- High level of proficiency and demonstrated effectiveness in problem solving and implementing new programs related to increased departmental and organizational efficiency
- Highly effective oral and written communication skills are required to collaborate with outside vendors/ contractors, various supervisory, senior management and administrative staff throughout FPI and with external customers
- Familiarity with the health care industry
- Demonstrated creative writing capability required
- Demonstrated ability to proofread marketing materials and documents
- Proficient skills in directing, monitoring, evaluating, and motivating the performance of staff
- PC literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office suites and Internet

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position.Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
