Position Summary:
The School of Education at UAF is seeking applicants for potential adjunct faculty positions. We are seeking applicants who possess a desire to help students succeed in reaching their goals. Join us and help turn student aspirations into reality!
Duties:
The University of Alaska Fairbanks, School of Education is looking for adjunct faculty/part-time instructors. Qualified applicants for this position will be placed into a hiring pool for the academic year of 2022-2023 from which instructors will be hired. The incumbent will be responsible for teaching one or more undergraduate courses in a manner consistent with UAF Faculty Senate guidelines and the specific course catalog description. Adjunct faculty are expected to participate in orientation activities and hold office hours appropriate for the course(s) being taught. Duties include instructing, advising, and assessing/grading students in the identified subject matter in alignment with UAF and department policies and procedures. Duties include developing a course outline, syllabus, teaching materials, and tests or other assessment methods consistent with UAF policies and procedures.Essential
Adjunct instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester appointment. Qualified applicants for this position will be placed into a hiring pool from which instructors will be hired as needed. Acceptance into the hiring pool does not constitute an offer of an appointment, nor does having worked one semester guarantee that a position will be available the following semester; hiring decisions are made on a semester-by-semester basis according to the needs of that semester's schedule.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Candidates will be evaluated on suitability of their graduate-level academic coursework and preparation, past teaching experiences, expertise and experience relevant to the effective teaching of their specific field, and potential for providing high-quality instruction to undergraduate students in assigned courses at the School of Education.
Preferred Experience & Education:
College level teaching experience preferred.
Required Experience & Education:
Master's degree in related field. Ph.D. preferred.
Salary Information:
This is a part-time, adjunct faculty position. Minimum salaries are set by the United Academic - Adjunct, AAUP-AT/AFL-CIO collective bargaining agreement. Salaries may vary based upon education and experience.
