We are currently looking to hire a motivated Operations Manager to join our team! 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Operations Manager is responsible for all regional station operations, ensuring that the delivery of services is consistent, professional, safe, and secure. The role requires a seasoned senior manager with strong operational and business understanding and leadership skills. The incumbent must have the ability to run a business in a challenging environment.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fully responsible for all aspects of the region
  • Leads and works with the senior team to maintain and enhance appropriate and effective safety & security systems, risk assessments, periodical inspections & audits, operational training programs, planning, operational processes, and service delivery.
  • Implementation of the company policies and procedures, promoting sound safety, security, and people management practice
  • Promoting and driving a 'safety first' culture through all levels of the organization.
  • Ensure the region remains fully compliant with internal standards and all relevant industry, regulatory, and state legislated requirements.
  • Defines and recommends objectives in each area of responsibility. Develops specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, together with supporting budget requests and financial estimates.
  • Establishes objectives and procedures/processes to measure the performance of assigned activities.
  • Issues specific annual objectives to immediate subordinates and reviews objectives periodically with staff to ensure successful completion.
  • Appraises the performance of all stations within the region; immediately reports and provides the necessary coordination between activities.
  • Drives labor efficiencies and control P&L of assigned stations
  • Selects and maintains qualified personnel in all positions reporting directly and holds the next level of management to the same standards.
  • Develops team through mentoring and identifying training and development needs. Ensures subordinates receive proper development to be successful.
  • Standardize work and processes, establish standard hours, and put in place accountability measures.
  • Reviews performance against operating plans and standards.
  • Makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepares reports and presentations to Sr. Management as requested.
  • Reviews and approves monthly reports and budgets including overhead, manpower, and facilities.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with other departments of the Corporation to achieve the best results.
  • Advocates and promotes continuous improvement and lean initiatives and includes those items in performance appraisals of subordinates.
  • Improves the culture of engagement with measures and expectations of engagement in all levels of the organization.
  • Maintains and promotes good Labor relations.
  • Practices and supports open, honest 2 -way communication with all levels of employees, up and down the organization.

QUALIFIATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Degree or postgraduate
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Experience in business development, sales, and commercial negotiation & pricing
  • Aviation background preferred (Airline or GHA)
  • Wide-ranging general management experience, with some years of senior management experience
  • Extensive senior management and/or support service experience, preferably in a ground handling, aviation, or logistics environment
  • Must have Excel and Power BI experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills balanced with a high level of confidence to influence and present at all levels.
  • Interpersonal skills: Independence, decisiveness, and the ability to work accurately and independent of immediate support. Able to influence, engage and motivate at all levels
  • Flexible, determined to succeed, and self-motivated
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
