The Lead Surgical Technologist is responsible for maintaining clinical expertise and promotes best practice in assigned areas, adhering to the standards of nursing practice and patient care, accurate use of supplies/equipment and maintenance of the surgical suite under the direction of an RN. This person will also the Operating Room Service Leads, and be the go to expert matter for the Surgical Technologist team.
Lead Surgical Technologist Overview
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Serves as scrub person during operative procedures
- Serves as clinical expert within the Surgical Tech team
- Supplies appropriate instruments, suture and specialty items, and anticipates surgeon’s needs
- Maintains aseptic technique during all sterile procedures
- Precepts new employees and travelers
- Participates in committees and process improvement projects
- Assist Supply/Implant/Tissue Coordinator with acquiring items for upcoming cases.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program
- 5 years Surgical Technology experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Surgical Technologist certification
Location: Ambulatory Surgery Center, Clinics and Surgery Center
Hours: 1.0 FTE
Sign-On Bonus: $5,000 (Bonus may be available to qualified applicants)
